Dollar Store Supplies Pros & Cons
The great thing about making a wreath from dollar store materials is that it’s affordable and accessible. You can find almost everything you need at your local dollar store, and the project only takes a few minutes to complete.
However, there are a few drawbacks to using dollar store materials. First, the quality of the materials may not be as good as those found at craft stores. Second, the selection may be limited, so you may have to get creative with your designs.
Overall, though, making a Valentine’s Day wreath from dollar store materials is a great way to save money and add some festive flair to your home. I used necklaces found at Dollar Tree because they were readily available and cost 4/$1.00. Have to love inexpensive craft supplies!

Step By Step Tutorial
Are you ready to make this super easy wreath? Let’s get started! These are the supplies you’ll need:
- 9″ foam wreath
- 28 metallic heart necklaces (7 pks of four necklaces)
- pink crepe paper streamer
- hot glue
- Cricut digital cutting machine
- silver ribbon
The first step will be to wrap the pink crepe paper around the foam wreath. This will create a uniform background color for the metallic necklaces to blend into. You can use a bit of hot glue to adhere the final section in place.
Begin adding the heart necklaces by gluing the beginning of one to the back of the wreath and then wrapping it until you can hot glue the end to the back as well. Continue attaching the necklaces, alternating colors as you go. Depending on the width and size of your wreath, you may need to squeeze the inner sections of necklaces to account for the curvature of the wreath.
Use Cricut digital cutting machine to cut a bow shape from the Metallic Faux Leather and assemble with hot glue. Apply more hot glue to the back of the bow and stick in place on the bottom of the wreath.
You can either decide to leave the wreath just like this or add galvanized words (also found at Dollar Tree) for more customization. I had the hardest time deciding which one I liked the best!
