How much fun is this Rocket Ship Collapsible Pencil Case? It looks like the rocket is landing and taking off from the moon as you use it. I’ve always loved school supplies but space-themed ones? Even better!

Back to School with Cricut
To make this Collapsible Pencil Case, you’re going to need a few supplies. First and foremost, you’re going to want a good digital cutting machine. I’m a huge fan of my Cricut Maker and it’s seriously a back-to-school essential! With your machine ready, you can grab the file on Design Space here. It’s completely free if you’re a member of Cricut Access!
I used Cricut’s Everyday Iron-On vinyl for this project. It’s easy to apply and durable during use. Plus, there are so many colors to choose from that it’s perfect for customizing this pencil case. There’s even a StrongBond Guarantee!
Once all the vinyl pieces have been cut a weeded, begin applying them to the collapsible pencil case. You can find the exact same case I used on Amazon. I usually love using my EasyPress 2 for everything but because this project is so small, a small iron is much easier to use.
Assembling the Collapsible Pencil Case
The vinyl application for this pencil pouch is pretty straight-forward. Just make sure to use the Design Space image to make sure you place all the pieces right side up. I wasn’t paying enough attention and accidentally applied the light blue rocket piece upside down! Continue adding vinyl pieces until your entire case done.
Make sure to apply all the rocket pieces above the fold in the white section of the bag and the rocket fire in the gray section, under the fold. This is what helps create that fun illusion of the rocket ship blasting off!
To the Moon & Back
How adorable is this Back to School Collapsible Pencil Case?! When it’s completely pulled open it looks like the rocket ship is blasting off the moon and landing when it’s pulled down. The sweet sentiment on the back is the perfect final touch!
