Back To School Burlap Banner - Banner WholeWhere did the time go? It feels like we just started to get the hang of summer over here and already we’re planning for going back to school! The only condolence to time slipping away is knowing that fall is just around the corner. This Back to School Burlap Banner has two of my favorite Autumn decor: burlap and apples! Whether you’re welcoming guests into your house or new students into your classroom, this sign can easily be made in about 15 minutes. Just make sure to follow my hints for printing on burlap below!

    Supplies:

    • 2 – Circle Wood Pennant Banner
    • Burlap Sheet
    • Mod Podge
    • Free “Back To School” Burlap Banner” File
    • Vinyl Transfer Tape

Back To School Burlap Banner - SuppliesStep 1. If you’ve never tried printing on a sheet of burlap, you’re in for a treat! It’s super easy to do and there are tons of different ways to use printed burlap in craft projects. Since you can’t run fabric through most household printers, we’ll use the transfer tape to stabilize the burlap first. Just apply it to the back of the burlap sheet and trim to your standard printer paper size (8.5″ x 11″). Insert the burlap sheet into your printer tray and print off the Free “Back To School” Burlap Banner” File.

Back To School Burlap Banner - Burlap PrintStep 2. Use a pair of scissors to cut out each of the circles. I find it easier to do this with the paper backing still attached.

Back To School Burlap Banner - TrimStep 3. Apply a thick coat of Mod Podge to each of the wood circles and affix the burlap shapes in place. You may need to press down for a few seconds to make sure they stick fully.

Back To School Burlap Banner - Mod PodgeStep 4. I applied an additional coat of Mod Podge to the outside edge of the burlap shape to prevent fraying. Place aside to dry.
