Well, we have officially survived an event I’ve been dreading for five years…sending my son to Kindergarten! He did great the first day we walked him to his class, not a tear was shed. Me, on the other hand, not so much. I promise, I tried to hold it together but he just looked so big and it didn’t seem like all that long ago I was bringing him home from the hospital. I know, I know. I’m such a sap. Now we just need to come up with 180 more days of lunch box ideas!

So, yeah, this week has been pretty tough for all of us. While my son worries about meeting new friends, I worry about packing a healthy lunch box that won’t end up in the school trash. There are tons of printables with lunch box ideas but not many of them are vegetarian friendly so I made up one of my own to help smooth out the morning rush!

Since I was not optimistic that my son would like all the NatureBox snacks I chose (I tell you, he’s really particular with his food!), I set up this little taste test for him the weekend before school started. I opened up all the packages, told him what they were, and waited for his reactions. Much to my surprise, he liked them all! Seriously. My crazy picky eater said he would eat any of them in his lunch but his absolute favorite were the Salted Caramel Pretzel Pops. I should confess that I may have “sampled” them a couple…ok, a handful of times too. He’s right, they’re delicious!
So, yeah, we’re still adjusting to this whole school lunch box thing but with the help of my Vegetarian Lunch Box Ideas free printable, I’ve got no doubt in my mind we’ll do just fine. Now joining the PTA…that’s a whole other can of worms!
