I’m not easily star-struck nor do I have many favorites in my life but I think it’s safe to say that I absolutely ADORE every single thing Heidi Swapp touches with her magical little fingers. Seriously, people, her craft supplies are just that beautiful. If I could I would be a lifelong member of the HS Fan Club (how nerdy is that?!) That’s why I couldn’t help but gasp when I saw the Heidi Swapp holiday products, perfect for all sorts of gift giving including this fun Peppermint Hot Chocolate Gift!

Peppermint Love
Have you guys seen all the awesome tutorials going around on how to make peppermint stirrers and such? This Peppermint Spoon tutorial from Princess Pinky Girl is absolutely brilliant! Unfortunately, I don’t have that super cool spoon mold (although I found it on Amazon here!) but I did have a couple of cute Heidi Swapp snowflake cookie cutters and some silicon tart forms to experiment with.
Try, Try Again
So, I tried making these peppermint forms with both crushed and whole candies. (Isn’t that the point of bloggers? So that they make the mistake for you!?) I highly suggest you don’t bother crushing them and just use the candies whole. Five candies fit perfectly if you’re using a small tart pan (like in picture above) or just stack two candies on top of each other for smaller cookie cutters (don’t forget to spray the metal cutters down with nonstick spray though!)
The Results!
So, here you can see the results of my tests. I personally like the lines that resulted from the peppermints melting into each other but you could definitely go the crushed route if you like that better. All that really matters is how yummy they’re going to taste as they melt into a cup of hot chocolate!
Season of Giving
These Peppermint Dippers (that’s the catchiest name I could come up with) can totally be paired with a container of instant hot chocolate (homemade or store-bought…I won’t tell!) for an easy and fun gift. They fit absolutely perfectly in the Heidi Swapp treat bags and can be matched seamlessly with her labels. Just tie with a bow around your container and you’re good to go!
Happy Holidays
Hope you guys enjoy making this Peppermint Hot Chocolate Gift either for a friend or for yourself! You can find all the Heidi Swapp holiday lovelies exclusively in Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores (physical stores and online). From what I’ve heard, supplies are extremely limited so I highly suggest you stock up soon. Hope you have a great season full of love, laughter, and plenty of hot chocolate!
