If you’ve followed this blog for a while, you know that I’m a huge fan of all things zombie! Back in 2009 I created a zombie design that I applied to a cardigan with my Print Gocco Screenprinting Kit (awh, I still miss my Gocco!) In 2010, I cut the zombies out by hand with freezer paper and used some fabric spray paint to make a Zombie Invasion Tee for my son.
It’s been a couple years since I’ve done anything with the design so I thought it was high time to dust off the old photoshop files and update the Zombie Tee with my o-so-handy Silhouette Cameo!
Can I just say that this project was 10x less painful with the Silhouette?! I still remember the crazy cramps I got when I cut this out by hand the last time. I think it took me three different cutting sessions with breaks in between to finish the whole design. My poor aching fingers!
The only frustration I had this time around was getting the machine to trace the correct outline of the zombies but now that that’s all figured out, you won’t have to worry about a thing! Make sure you give the iron plenty of time to stick down all those thin edges and when in doubt…iron, iron again!
Just in case anyone else is crazy about zombies (who isn’t?!), here are the files to make your own Zombie Invasion Tee! As always, please refrain from using this and all Tried & True designs for commercial purposes. Be good or I’ll send my walkers after you! 😀

what type of material did you use for the design?
Vanessa Brady says
Hah, I should have mentioned that! It’s heat transfer vinyl. 🙂

My husband is trying to convince me that he needs this shirt. He’s a complete zombie apocalypse nut (I say that with love). I’m glad you got the cut file to work! I’d never have the patience to cut that out by hand
Lauren @ The Thinking Closet says
You get major points from me for ever attempting this with an exacto knife. Wow, girl. That’s dedication! How cool that you got to put your Silhouette to work this time instead of giving yourself carpal tunnel. Oh, and funny aside – – when I first looked at this design, I thought, “Oh, look at that cheerleader in the middle with her pom pom. It must be a high schools scene.” And then, upon closer look I realize, that’s no cheerleader. It’s a zombie. And that’s no pom pom. It’s a severed head. Nice. 😉

This is awesome! I’m updated the stick people on my mommy van and started looking for zombie cut files. It led me here! Thanks for this awesome design.
