I gotta tell you all, I am so overwhelmed right now. Between regular blog responsibilities and the Summer shuffle, I am booked almost every hour of every day from 5 AM (when I wake up) to 11 PM (when I usually turn off my computer). Life is so crazy right now that if I don’t write down an event or deadline, there’s about a 97.5% chance I’ll forget it. That’s why I created this Totally Free Blog Planner and since I know you guys are also crazy busy, thought you might enjoy it too!
Mother of Invention
I use my phone for personal reminders but when it comes to my blog, I’m all about having a physical paper planner I can hold and touch. I’ve used a couple different blog planners in the past but they were all too big for my needs (both physically and time-wise) so I whipped up this super basic planner that has only the essentials. I made the calendar portion two pages so that I had plenty of room for daily reminders. Also included dedicated spaces at the top of each month to keep track of social media and blog stats. It’s nice to keep track of those numbers month-by-month plus they’re easy to grab when applying for sponsored campaigns!
So Many Ideas
Outside of the calendar, the second most important thing was a place to put all the ideas I have floating through my mind. I created a Post Ideas section that I could jot down a quick sketch, list of supplies, possible sponsors, and date completed. It’s a great spot to thumb through when I’m low on inspiration! When I’m brainstorming ideas to pitch companies or submit for design teams, this is where I go to first. I loooove this section and if I ever lost my planner, these would be the pages I miss the most!
Summertime
Since we’re in full-on Summer mode, being able to work on the go is becoming an absolute necessity. That’s where the Totally Free Blogger Planner and my HP ENVY x2 powered by Intel 2in1 come in handy! It’s got the portability and ease of a tablet with the functionality and space of a full-on laptop. The detachable keyboard not only protects the screen but also makes it possible to write the detailed tutorials Tried & True is known for. The HP ENVY x2 allows me to work remotely while my kids enjoy their summer camps and lessons so that I can be present and involved when we all come back together as a family later in the day.
Print-A-Planner
If you want to make your own planner all you need to do is print out the following pages and assemble (either yourself or take to an office store to assemble). You’re going to print the front sections in entirety and then re-insert into the printer to get the back. You control the amount of pages you want for post ideas/notes (I started with 20 pages of each) and if you want certain sections to use heavier weight paper. I’m pretty rough with my planner (since I’m always on the go!) so I added a clear protector to the front and thick chipboard to the back. Each section is also separated with a plastic tabbed sheet for easy access. I’m sure you all knew this but please refrain from using for commercial purposes.
