I just love May Day! I’m a big fan of any day that promotes the surprise gift-giving of plants on your doorstep. Found these adorable glass bubbles in the dollar section of Target last week (Oh Target!) and immediately thought what a great gift they would make. Who wouldn’t want to receive a surprise May Day Succulent Bubble? Let’s get started!

This project is so easy you really don’t need a tutorial! Just add a layer of small gravel and Cactus & Succulent Soil to the base of your glass bubble, taking care not to fill too much. (If you aren’t able to find any glass bubbles at Target (they go so fast!), you can find a pack of three Glass Orbs available on Amazon.)
You can’t see my gravel because it got pushed to the back but it’s there, I promise! Succulents don’t like for their roots to stay wet so the gravel will help with drainage. Remove succulent from store planter and remove as much of the surrounding soil as possible. There’s not a whole lot of room in the bubble so your plant has to be as small as possible!
Add plant to bubble and you’re ready to go! I cut out a little flag and taped it in place on the string to wish “Happy May Day” to the gift recipient. So easy and so fun! Hope you consider starting this May Day tradition. Your neighbors will absolutely love it!
