Regardless of your baby’s personality and overall demeanor, there will come a time when he or she will absolutely HATE changing their diaper. Absolutely hate hate hate it. No worries, though, I’ve got a super easy project that you can make in minutes and that will totally entertain your child during those dreaded diaper changes!
The Down & Dirty
Before we get to the tutorial, let’s take a few minutes to discuss a diaper change essential…Nice ‘n CLEAN Baby Wipes! One of the things all my babies have inherited from me is super sensitive skin so having baby wipes that don’t irritate them is a must (although their scented one smells really nice!)
I absolutely love that they are 99% purified water and naturally derived ingredients (No alcohol, dyes, parabens, phthalates, or chlorine). Perfectly gentle enough for me to wipe down my daughter’s face, hands, or bottom!
Also, Nice ‘n CLEAN wipes come in a variety of packing sizes options so you can grab as few or as many as you need.
Diaper Change Entertainer
Little tiny babies usually love diaper changes because it’s nice “up close” time with adults. Once a child gets old enough, he or she may decide they have much better things to do than lay still during a diaper change and have no problem telling you so!
Here’s where I can help! I’ll show you how to quickly make this fun gel pack that your kids will love to look at and squeeze while you get the diaper business done. Plus, you can make it as big or as small as you need for the size of your sweet little one’s hands!
Supplies:
- Vacuum sealer bag
- Vacuum sealer
- Sea animal beads
- Hair gel
- Decorative duct tape (optional)
Making this project doesn’t get any easier! Just add the hair gel and beads to the bag and seal closed. Make sure not to fill the bag more than half way with the contents to prevent leaking while sealing.
With the bag completely sealed, you can press and shift the beads around as much as you want with your hands and none of the gel will leak out. You’ll soon see that kids aren’t the only ones who will enjoy playing with the bag!
As a final touch, you can wrap decorative duct tape around the edges. This step is optional but totally adds to the look of the bag!
My daughter, who is 1 1/2 years old, was absolutely mesmerized by this squishy gel-filled pack. I’m planning on throwing in my diaper bag to only bring out during diaper changes so she doesn’t get bored with it. I’m totally going to make one for every room we change her diaper in!
