You remember how excited I was a couple weeks ago to receive a Kitchenaid Mixer Attachment Pack from my mother and sisters for my birthday? (Thanks Mom, Gelica, Tracy, Yana and Jeremy!) I’ve been coveting the food strainer ever since I started canning my own tomato products because it’s seriously going to make the whole process so much easier!
There’s no way I was going to be able to hold off playing with my new toy until the next tomato season so I rushed out and got 12 lbs of organic apples to make and can apple sauce. Max is 9 months old and totally into fruit (although he plays with it more than he eats it!) and I’m totally loving having a supply of ready-to-eat food not taking up my freezer or fridge.
Since Valentine’s Day was coming up, I figured we would give some of our apple sauce as gifts to some of Jack’s friends. They’re still young enough that they won’t feel cheated out of candy. I made up a little label to put on the top of the mason lid and thought some of you might be interested in it as well. You don’t have to have canned apple sauce to use the label. It should work on those little personal cups of apple sauce as well!
