Holiday Tag Kit Mason Jar Gift

27 October 2014 by Vanessa Brady 5 Comments

Holiday-Gift-Tag-Kit-SM-9I love giving food as holiday gifts but sometimes, whether because of allergy or preference, only a non-edible gift will do. Here’s an idea for a Holiday Gift Tag Kit that is not only cute but helpful as well! It would be a great gift for that super busy friend or creative teenager in your life. You could even put one together for yourself because, really, how often do you desperately need a gift tag and can’t find one anywhere? Answer: All. The. Time.

Materials:

  • Ball Pint Mason Jars
  • Mini Bowdabra
  • Wired Silver Ribbon
  • Red/White Polka Dot Washi Tape
  • Mini Alphabet Stamps
  • Small Black Ink Pad
  • We R Memory Keepers Washi Sheets
  • 1 1/4″ Circle Punch
  • Small Black Pen
  • Black/White Baker’s Twine
  • Blank Core’dinations Creative Tags
  • Free “Holiday Gift Tag Kit” Label

Use What You Got

I know that supply list looks daunting but you do not have to follow it completely! With the exception of the Mini Alphabet Stamps ($1.50 at Michael’s) and Small Black Ink Pad (inside a Dollar Store Fingerprint Kit), I just used things I already had in my craft room. So, feel free to use any twine, ribbon, punch, or washi tape you have in stock. It’s a great way to make an inexpensive gift and use up some of your craft supply too!

Gift-Givers Assemble!

To assemble your kit, punch out the appropriate number of washi paper circles. The blank tags come 20 to a pack so I was able to make two kits with 10 tags each (1 Sample, 9 Blank). Don’t forget to punch out an extra circle to use for the mason jar lid label. I included a sample gift tag but you could also leave them all blank and let your gift recipient’s creative juices run wild. Now that you’ve assembled everything, just throw it all in your mason jar!

As for the outside of the jar, you can either make your own bow with the Bowdabra tool or find a store-bought one that will fit on top of the lid. Apply a good amount of hot glue to the underside and adhere in place on the lid. Wrap the rim with washi tape, tie on the free “Holiday Gift Tag Kit” label, and you’re ready to gift. Anybody would appreciate a kit with everything you need to make some super cute gift tags, right? It’s useful, compact, and absolutely zero calories!

It should be a 3x3 square printed on a 8.5x11 page.
