Mark It Up

I gotta be honest with you, starting with a completely blank mug was a little nerve-wracking! There’s just something about a blank slate that stops me in my creative tracks. The good thing is that even if you make a huge mistake (which I made often!), you can just wipe away the design with rubbing alcohol prior to baking. I don’t know how many times I changed the cat mug before finally deciding on the minimal look! (You can see one of the erased designs on the T&T Instagram page)

Heat It

After you’ve finalized your design, all you have to do is bake in a non-heated oven at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Allowing the mug to warm and cool with the oven will prevent cracking during this step. Your super cute mug is now food, microwave, dishwasher safe! How cool is it that when you use the PaintedbyMe markers and mugs together, they are FDA-approved food safe?!

Best Gift Ever

Now all I have to do is fill the mugs with either candy, tea satchels, or instant coffee packs and I’ve got a personalized gift! I’m planning on giving the Kindness mug to one of my son’s teacher’s and the Cat mug to my cousin for her birthday. I know they’re going to love them since the mugs perfectly match their individual personalities to a T. I made two little labels to go with each of these mugs and thought I would offer them to you guys as well.
