Coffee Mug Gift for the Star Wars Geek

I love that this project combines three of my favorite things in this world: geeky puns, coffee, and my Silhouette Cameo! I wish I could keep this silly Star Wars Travel Mug for myself but it’s the gifting season and I know just the jolly geek to give it to. It’ll be the perfect accessory for standing in line for Star Wars VII! WARNING: This post contains an obnoxious amount of Star Wars puns. You’ve been warned!

I Like You Sith Much

If you have no idea what the heck this mug is in reference to but need to make a geeky gift, here’s the Admiral Ackbar wiki to give you the general gist. Basically, he’s a character in Star Wars that’s known for screaming “It’s a trap!” so this is a play off of that with “It’s a frap!” I swear it’s funny if you’re even remotely geeky! To make your own, you’re going to need a Silhouette Cameo (or another cutting machine), Permanent Outdoor Vinyl, Travel Mug, and the free “It’s A Trap” Studio File.

These Aren’t the Droids

Once your Cameo machine has miraculously cut the file from the vinyl, use transfer tape to pull the image from the protective backing and move it over to the travel cup. Because it’s so small, I didn’t worry about the image warping too much on the curve of the cup but there’s a ton of tutorials for applying vinyl perfectly straight if you’re picky. Please disregard my super dry skin, looks like someone needs the gift of hand cream, huh?!

And that’s a wrap! I’m planning on adding a Starbucks gift card inside with just a big red bow on top. What geek wouldn’t love it?! Hope this gift idea comes in handy and that your holidays are Yodalicious!
