You only need a few supplies to make this Stars and Stripes Pillow: an Iron-On Pillow Cover, Expressions Vinyl heat transfer vinyl, a cutting machine (I’m a big fan of Cricut!), and the free file found below. Easy peasy, right?

Use your cutting machine to cut out the pattern and begin to weed the excess vinyl away. As you can see, I decided to cut my design from three different colors but you’re more than welcome to do more or less. Totally up to you!
Since I was using multiple colors, I had to trim my pieces so that I could lay them all out before ironing. Some of the pieces (the stripes and “forever”) actually had to be trimmed right up to the vinyl for proper placement. Almost done!
After I was happy with the layout, I placed a protective piece of fabric over the vinyl and ironed on high. Now for the big reveal…
Tada! I totally love how clean and modern this Stars and Stripes Pillow is going to look on my couch! I’m thinking of making a few other accent pillows that have minimal designs on them to match. Maybe a thin pillow with just a line of stars. What do you guys think? Hope you all enjoy the free cutting file and don’t forget to enter the giveaway below!
