This Easy Calavera Wall Art is sponsored by FloraCraft®. All ideas and opinions are my own.Can you believe we’re half way through Dia de Los Muertos Week?! The third project I have to share with you all is a super easy and fun Calavera Wall Art. Because of the paper elements, I wouldn’t suggest you hang this outside unless you switch out the paper flowers for silk ones (which would look awesome, btw). I’m planning on hanging mine right next to the Dia de Los Muertos Figurine I shared on Monday!

Easy Calavera Wall Art
Materials:
- FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam Disc – 11 7/8″
- Make It: Fun® Foam Cutter
- Make It: Fun® Smooth Finish
- We R Memory Keepers Flower Punch Board
- 12″ Floral Craft Ring
- Scrapbook Paper
- Dimensional Paint
Step One. Before removing the plastic wrapper, use a marker to sketch out the shape of a skull and then use Foam Cutter to trim away excess material. I promise that leaving the plastic on makes things soooooo much easier!
Step Two. Use a putty knife to spread the Smooth Finish on the front and edges of skull. You want to try and push in the putty as much as possible into all the little nooks and crannies (hah, my computer wanted to autocorrect that into “grannies!”) Don’t worry too much about making it super smooth, the raised plaster adds a nice look to the final piece!
Step Three. While the skull is drying, make paper flowers out with We R Memory Keepers Flower Punch Board. I used 15 flowers around mine but you might want to make some extra just in case. This step can take a while so I highly suggest watching a movie or show to make the time go by faster (Gilmore Girls?)
Step Four. Once the plaster has dried completely, use a foam-safe glue to attach the skull to the craft ring, making sure to leave enough space around the edges to glue the flowers in place. Use dimensional paint to add colorful detail to the face and rims of the calavera!
Hang & Love
My favorite part about working with FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam is that even with the additional plaster finish, this Calavera Wall Art is still so light that it can easily be hung with a small nail or even a pushpin! I hope you all have tons of fun painting and customizing your calavera to be anything you want!

This is really fun, Vanessa. Love the paper flowers, too, and yes, silk would be awesome as well. Thank you!
