I’m a huge sucker for funny coffee mugs. Seriously. I have a hard time saying “no” to them even though our kitchen cabinet is overflowing with witty remarks. So, of course, what did I do for this month’s free file blog hop that’s themed “Craft?” Made a funny and crafty coffee mug! It’s an illness, I tell you. <shakes head>

Making this “Crafte Diem” mug only requires a few supplies: a blank coffee mug, Oracal 651 Outdoor Vinyl (I used mint), cutting machine (I used a Cricut Explore Air 2), and the free file found below. I went with the outdoor vinyl because it’ll hold up better with repeated washings. Super love the black/white/mint combo!
In case you don’t understand the term “Crafte Diem,” it’s a play off of the Latin saying “Carpe Diem” or seize the day. I love filling my hours with all things crafty so it only makes sense to have my morning coffee in a “Craft the Day” mug! Making a mug of your own couldn’t be easier, just cut the free file, weed (LOVE the weeding tool from Expressions Vinyl!), and apply to a blank mug. Done and done!
It’s the perfect mug to keep in my craft studio! Of course, you can use this free file on a ton of different blank surfaces like t-shirts or journals (for personal use only). Hope you have as much fun with this project as I did!
