Tying The Sailor Knot
If you’ve never made a Sailor’s Knot before, they can look kinda tricky to make but never fear, I’ve got a super handy quick video to help! I used two different colored paracords but you’re more than welcome to use different supplies. Between paracords, bungees, leather, and hemp, you’ve got tons of options for customizing this bracelet.
Step One. Cut two 30″ strands of your cord. You can choose contrasting colors for a dramatic look or keep it simple with the same color. You could even customize the look for each bracelet based on what the gift recipient would like! Follow the quick video below to create the sailors knot (Music: Buddy – Bensound.com).
Step Two. Once you’ve got your knot made, wrap around your wrist to get the approximate size you’ll need. Keep in mind that whatever findings you use to cap the ends might add an additional bit of length.
Step Three. Depending on what cording you use, you might want to consider burning or gluing the ends to prevent fraying. You’re going to want to keep this Sailor Knot Bracelet around for a long time!
Step Four. Use the jewelry pliers to pinch findings onto the end of the cords. Done and done!
Forever Intertwined
Put this bracelet in a little box and it makes the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for any teen, girlfriend, or mom. The knot can be a bit of a bother while you’re still learning but once you get the hang of it, you can whip these babies out super fast! Hope you guys enjoy making this super easy Sailor Knot Bracelet for Valentine’s Day or just because!
