I was nursing my son one night when this little quote popped in my head (raise your hand if you’re a nursing mom who daydreams about crafts while stuck on the couch. Hi, Yana!) but as with the “Little Man” Coloring Print, I just assumed I had seen it on Pinterest or Craftgawker. Well, after a bit of searching, I still haven’t found the verse anywhere on the internet so until proven otherwise, I’m going to claim it for my own. Feel free to correct me!
I designed the Silhouette file, cut the image out of black vinyl, and stuck it to the inside of a picture frame glass. This was my first time working with vinyl and transfer paper and I’m pretty happy with how it turn out. If you plan on doing a similar project, don’t forget to flip the image since you’re going to stick it on the inside of the glass. Lesson learned over here!
I originally designed this to fit in with the robots we’ve collected for our boys’ room but I’m just now realizing that Nuts & Bolts could also work for anyone who likes trucks or woodworking. You know…People who aren’t nerds and who’s life doesn’t revolve around Science Fiction (Oh the horror!) And this so doesn’t just have to be for kids! I’ll probably be revisiting this file when Valentine’s Day comes around…in five months. (Seriously? Crazy.)Here’s the Nuts & Bolts file in case you want to make one for the robot lover/car aficionado/woodworker in you life! I’ve converted the file to paths so that you won’t need to have the exact fonts but as always, let me know if you have any problems working the image. Also, it’s reversed in case you want to stick it to the inside of a frame like I did but you can just flip it back if you’re going to turn it into a wall decal or apply it to the front of a wood block. (which gives me an idea…)
Aaaaand you know the routine…you are more than welcomed to use this file for personal enjoyment but please refrain from using it for commercial gain. Don’t make me send my robots after you!

I’m pinning this so I can use it on my hubby someday! (And hope he forgets seeing it by V-Day since he just peered over my shoulder and was like, “What’s that?”) Nothing, Mark. Nothing.
😉 Another stroke of genius from you and your nursing self. Great job!
Thanks for participating in another Silhouette Challenge Group Post! Whoo hoo!

Hey, I love this – saw it on Pinterest and would love to make one for my son’s room. Is there anyway you could save this as a .svg file not studio file and send me a copy? That would be super fantastic!!
Thanks

LOVE the idea, would like to make, but don’t have .studio software. Is there anyway for you to save this in a different format so that I can access it? Thank you!
Vanessa Brady says
Unfortunately, since I created it in Silhouette Studio, I can’t save it as anything other than a studio file. I really wish they would change that! There are a number of tutorials online, though, that give pretty detailed descriptions of doing it on your own. Hope one of those helps!

I love this pic so much!! Any chance you have a PDF or something I could use for a poster? I don’t have the right software to enjoy this and would absolutely LOVE it for my son’s robot room.
