    Laundry Room Change Jar

Published: May 27, 2015 · Modified: Dec 19, 2016 · by Vanessa Brady · This post may contain affiliate links and ads · 27 Comments

I’m going to be honest with you guys…I hate doing laundry. I mean, does anyone really like laundry? Since it obviously has to be done, might as well focus on the positive things like the gorgeous new scents of method and being able to collect all the spare change from everyone’s pockets. It really is about the simple joys in life!

Looking for another way to update the laundry room? Check out A Step In the Journey’s hints for peel and stick tile!

    1…2…10!

I figured that since I would be collecting laundry change, I might as well have someplace cute to put it. This handy laundry room change jar will hang next to my dryer making me smile during the daily misery of laundry time. Of course, I just had to use one of my all-time favorite movie quotes! It’s just so perfect, I HAD to use it. (Ten points if you know what movie this came from!) If chalkboard art seems daunting to you, no worries! I’m going to show you a super easy way to make perfect looking letters.

    Laundry Room Change Jar

    Materials:

    • Framed Chalkboard
    • White Graphite Transfer Paper
    • White Paint Pen or Chalk Marker
    • Small Container
    • “Keep The Change” Free Printable

    Laundry-Change-Collector-9

Step One. Print and trim the “Keep The Change” Free Printable. Layer with graphite transfer paper over framed chalkboard. Trace the letters with a pen. Don’t worry if your lines aren’t perfect, chalkboard art never is!

Laundry-Change-Collector-2Step Two. Use paint pen or chalk marker to just follow and color in the white lines.

Laundry-Change-Collector-3Step Three. Use a couple of nails or screw hooks to affix the small container to the frame. I bought a few of these miniature laundry baskets from the dollar spot a few months ago. Aren’t they perfect?!

    Growing Up

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you guys that it’s tough being an adult sometimes. There’s always meals to be made, floors to be swept, and laundry to be cleaned. That’s why it’s so important to add a little bit of whimsy to your day. I know that I’ll smile every time I walk into my laundry room and see this silly “Keep the Change” frame hanging next to the piles of dirty clothes. Maybe that’ll make doing laundry easier. Hope you all enjoy your own Laundry Room Change Jar!

That makes me so happy! We watch it all the time but it’s a definite family tradition to watch it on Thanksgiving. 😀

I found it in the dollar section of Target but I’ve also seen similar items at Dollar Tree. Hope that helps!
